Just a quick note to mention that there are more pictures of Kathryn up on shutterfly, and there is another video taken this morning. The video is just a little light-challenged, but clearly shows Kathryn rolling over. Use the link above or just view it below.
More pictures are also available on Shutterfly, including the one that came in the announcements. We’ve basically just done a couple new albums with rough timeframes.
For Kelly and I, it took over 20 years to feel our first earthquake. For Kathryn, it took 43 days. At 1:39AM last night, a magnitude 3.8 quake hit about 20 miles away from us. The whole family slept through it, but the noise and movement apparently woke a lot of people up. More information can be found here.
We’re on quite the streak lately. For the past 4 nights, Kathryn has been asleep solid between the hours of midnight and 5AM. Being a little superstitious about the whole thing we don’t want to claim preliminary victory, but this is a positive sign that sleeping habits may be forming…
Needless to say, the last several weeks have been quite busy at the Lerch household. Kathryn is now 8lbs, 10oz, and we can tell she’s grown. We’ve gotten lots of pictures (direct link new pictures here) and several new videos posted. Very cute! Here’s a quick rundown on the pictures:
Kathryn likes to “bird” us (we think she looks like a baby bird asking for food) when hungry. We got this video of it on July 6th.
Two videos have now been published. It’s been a while since we had some downtime to do video transfer/conversion/upload from the video we shot in the hospital, but now it’s been done. You can now view Kathryn’s first bath and the way that her first professional pictures were taken. What you can’t see in the second video is that the camera used is operated by foot pedals, so the operator has their hands free to distract the subject.
The first batch of Kathryn pictures are now posted. Hop on over to http://kathrynmarie.shutterfly.com to see our pictures from the hospital and the first few hours at the house. Pictures are in chronological order, so you can follow us through the first 48 hours.
Paul brought over a PCMCIA adapter so I could upload a real photo. This is Kathryn at 20 minutes. The doctor is still stitching Kelly (only a couple stitches) at the time the picture was taken…
The next picture is Kathryn being weighed. I hope I don’t get in trouble for posting nude photos. ;-)

Mom went into labor at 9:30AM today. At 11AM Kelly was checked out and was 6cm dialated, 90% effaced. We were admitted to the hospital at noon and things went pretty well. Mom and baby girl are doing great!!
Here are a couple low-res photos from the camera phone (Emil forgot the thing to transfer pictures from the normal camera). Kathryn is 30 min old here.
Kelly and I went to the doctor for our weekly check. She’s now 4cm dialated, 60% effaced, and the doctor said they could feel the baby’s head! We’re getting close now…here’s a picture of us taken tonight.
